Why the First Ten Days Matter

They are only this small for about a week.

The curled fingers. The impossibly small toes. The way they fold right back into the shape they held inside you.

Nobody warns you how fast newborn disappears. One week they're tucked into a ball on your chest, and by the next month those tiny sleepers are already too short in the arms. The photos on your phone are real and precious — and they still won't show you what you'll ache to remember: the exact size of them against your hands.

We photograph in the first ten days for that reason. Warm studio, quiet room, soft window light, and absolutely no rush. Feed when they're hungry. Change them twice. Cry a little if you need to — most new mothers do, and it's usually when they see the first frame on the back of the camera.

You don't need to be recovered, styled, or put together. Bring the baby and let us hold the room. What you'll walk away with is the version of your family you'll want on the wall in twenty years, when this baby is taller than you and you can't quite believe they ever fit in the crook of your arm.

  • Safety-first posing, sanitized wraps, temperature-controlled studio
  • Unhurried — feeding, soothing and outfit changes are built into the time
  • Parents and siblings welcome, so you exist in these photos too
  • Reserve during pregnancy; we finalize the date once baby arrives

I was exhausted and convinced I looked terrible. The photo of her asleep on my chest is the one I look at when I miss her being new.

Newborn FAQ

Answered With Care

When should I book my newborn session?

Ideally during your second or third trimester. Newborn weekends release on the 2nd and 4th Saturday (10:00 am and 1:00 pm) plus the following Sunday at 1:00 pm, so choose your due month at checkout and we'll hold a tentative date — then finalize once baby arrives, typically between days 5 and 10.

Where are sessions photographed?

In our Pacific Northwest studio (Pasco, WA), styled with heirloom wraps and soft, natural window light. In-home lifestyle newborn sessions are available on request.

Is it safe for my baby?

Absolutely. Every pose, prop, and transition is safety-first. The studio is temperature-controlled, we sanitize wraps and surfaces between sessions, and we never rush a feeding or soothing break.

Can siblings and parents be included?

Yes — add our $149 Family Portrait set to include parents, siblings, and any grandparents. Family photos are photographed during the last 30 minutes of the session, so siblings only need to arrive for that final half hour.

What is included in the $499 session?

Your session fee covers the studio experience, styling, 30+ retouched digital images, and a private ordering appointment. Prints, albums, and additional galleries are curated à la carte.

Ready to reserve your baby's first portraits?

Sessions are held for a limited number of families each month to keep the experience unhurried.
